Meet at West Bowl/Smoketree Trailhead		 West Bowl Loop This hike starts at the Smoketree Trailhead at the end of Beech Mtn Parkway (gravel road) and ends back at the trailhead where you began

Meet at Buckeye Rec Center		 Grassy Gap Creek Trail This hike starts at the Rec Center and follows Grassy Gap Creek up and back for a 4 mile hike through the woods

Meet at Buckeye Rec Center		 Fireman's Trail and Wild Iris This will be one of the most beautiful winter hikes you can take in the high country. Make sure you bring your gloves and hat!

Meet at Town Hall 		Upper/Lower Pond Creek We'll ring in the new year with a hike along Pond Creek from Perry Park all the way to the falls at the bottom of Lower Pond Creek trail and back

Meet at Town Hall 		Emerald Outback We'll trek through the woods of the Emerald Outback and enjoy gorgeous winter views of the ski slopes, Roan Mountain and Elk River Valley

Falls Trail/Westerly Hills come check out our popular Falls Trail and stay for another hike through Westerly Hills, which has great winter views from the ridge line. You may even get a glimpse of some rare wildlife

Meet at Town Hall 		Smoketree to West Bowl Let's celebrate President's Day on this great loop from Smoketree trail head at Pinnacle Ridge Road to the West Bowl and back.

Meet at Town Hall		 Beech Mountain Bog Join us for this very special hike to a very special, state protected bog area on Beech Mountain's eastern most ridge. You won't regret this one!

  • All hikes are led by volunteers familiar with the trails
  • Meet at trail head prior to 9 am for a 9 o'clock departure
  • We ask not to bring dogs which may scare away wildlife that we may observe while on our hike
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear are required
  • Transportation back to trail head will be provided
